The Nanomagnetism and Spintronics Laboratory at the Department of Applied Physics of the Helsinki University of Technology has an open position for a postdoctoral research fellow. The project focuses on structural and spectroscopic analysis of ferromagnetic/ferroelectric multilayers using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. The work will be conducted at the new Nanomicroscopy Center where a state-of-the-art sub-Ångström TEM (JEOL JEM-2200FS double Cs corrected TEM with correction at probe and image), a new SEM (JEOL JSM-7500F SEM), and a variety of scanning probe microscopes are available. For more information on the laboratory and the available facilities see http://tfy.tkk.fi/nanospin/
Highly motivated individuals with a strong expertise in cross-sectional TEM analysis are encouraged to apply. The contract can start immediately and the appointment can run up to three years. After a successful postdoctoral fellowship, there is a possibility to apply for a tenure-track position at the Department of Applied Physics.
Applications, including CV, statement of interest, and contact details of three references should be sent by mail or e-mail to Prof. Sebastiaan van Dijken, Nanotalo, Puumiehenkuja 2, P.O. Box 5100, FI-02015 TKK, Finland. E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
